Mac: Instalando el SP3 de WinXP en una mac intel based

En estos días, mi hermano poseedor de una macbook estuvo intentando sin éxito instalar el Win XP SP3. El error acusado era que no habia suficiente espacio en disco (not enough space to install service pack 3).

Despues de googlear un poco por la web, pudimos resolver el problema gracias a un post de mac-forums, que transcribo a continuación asi queda en algun lugar mas de la web. Desde ya gracias a mrplow (autor del post) por la respuesta sumamente util

Have you applied the Apple bootcamp update for SP3?It's a pre-requisite before you install xpsp3.

In this instance it's not a FAT32 issue. I've used both the online and standalone updates without issue on FAT32 based installations.

If this doesn't work it could be to do with your boot directory setting in the XP registry it's a problem that several people are reporting:

As with any registry 'tweak' backup first etc etc.1. Click Start - Run - Type “regedit” and press enter.2.

Navigate to[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Setup]

In the right pane, Right-click and select New - String value4. Name it as “BootDir” and set its value to “C:\”
